- Artwork by Courtney White of Little Rock, AR
Courtney White is a printmaker living in Little Rock, AR. She began printmaking in 2015 when she started taking classes at the Arkansas Arts Center. Her primary focus is relief printmaking using a technique called Chine Collé.
Most of these prints are made using a Chine Collé. This process allows for printing on delicate paper which is adhered to a thicker support paper. An image is carved onto a sheet of linoleum which is then inked. A pre-cut piece (or pieces) of fine paper are placed onto the inked surface. The ink is transferred and the paper adhere simultaneously as the paper and plate are run through a press. The resulting print is a mirrored image of the linoleum plate.
